The ice thickness control probe is developed to be used with ice makers. It is responsible for sensing when the ice maker is to be placed in the harvest mode.
Once the full batch of ice formation is completed, the bridge of ice on the evaporator begins to thicken, the water running on the evaporator comes in contact with the ice thickness probe. The Manitowoc 2008029 ice thickness control probe initiates the harvest cycle after it senses water contact for a few seconds continuously.
The bridge thickness probe is compatible with 115V and 208-230V ice makers. If the ice maker is stuck in the freeze cycle, there is a possibility that the harvest switch has failed or not been adjusted properly. The functioning of the ice thickness probe is also affected by the scale and lime buildup. Made with high-grade materials, the ice thickness control probe endures prolonged use.
